The Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team is set to host Siena Heights on Friday, November 8, with the game starting at noon. This match marks the Eagles' home opener at the George Gervin GameAbove Center in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

The game will be broadcasted on ESPN+, featuring commentary from Tom Helmer and Reggie Butler. Fans can also listen to the live coverage on WEMU (89.1 WEMU-FM), The Varsity Network App, or through the Eastern Insider Podcast.

Eastern Michigan began their season with a 64-44 loss against Texas State on November 4. Junior Christian Henry was a standout performer for the Eagles, scoring 17 points and securing three steals during that game. Previously, in an exhibition match against Central State on October 30, Henry scored 21 points while senior Da'Sean Nelson contributed with 18 points.

The Eagles have been ranked tenth in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) preseason poll for this season. Ohio topped the poll with eleven first-place votes. EMU has introduced eleven new players to its roster for the 2024-25 season including seniors Jalen Terry and Da'Sean Nelson from DePaul University.

Sophomore Arne Osojnik was notable last season as he led MAC freshmen in scoring with an average of 8.8 points per game and made it to the Freshman All-MAC Team by shooting a team-high of 65 three-pointers at a rate of 36.5%.

Senior Jalin Billingsley had six offensive rebounds against Texas State, placing him among top national performers in this category during opening night.

In defense statistics from their previous matches, Eastern Michigan limited Texas State to just one field goal within the final minutes of their game and forced Central State into committing twenty-five turnovers during their exhibition match-up.

The Eagles' head coach Stan Heath is entering his fourth year leading EMU's men's basketball team and holds a record of thirty-one wins and sixty-three losses with them so far.

Looking ahead, Eastern Michigan will face IU-Indianapolis on November 14 followed by Cleveland State on November 16 as part of their early-season schedule primarily consisting of road games.
