The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) soccer team achieved its seventh clean sheet of the 2024 season with a scoreless draw against Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in a Mid-American Conference match. The game took place on Thursday, October 24, at Cochrane Stadium in Bowling Green, Ohio.

During the first half, both teams had limited opportunities with only five total shots. Redshirt sophomore Ella Holland made a notable save in the 17th minute. In the second half, senior Meagan Lukowski attempted to score for EMU with a shot on target following a corner kick from sophomore Kate Robinson, but it was saved by BGSU's defense.

BGSU outshot EMU 10-4; however, EMU held an advantage in corner kicks with a 5-4 margin. As for individual performances, Holland recorded three saves and marked her eighth career clean sheet. Sophomore Sarah Van Euwen and redshirt sophomore Scarlett Thomas played full matches alongside senior Sam Lenaghan and sophomore Rosalie Takacsy.

Redshirt sophomore Sophia Baumann made her first career start while junior Hannah Thompson started for the first time this season. Following this match, the all-time series between EMU and BGSU remains tied at 15-15-3.

EMU's seven clean sheets this season are their highest since achieving eight in 2014. This match also marked their third scoreless draw of the season—the most since 2009—and their first time having three scoreless draws in MAC play.

Eastern Michigan will face Kent State University on Sunday, October 27, for their final home match of the season at 1 p.m.
