Eastern Michigan University's women's golf team set a new school record at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Kapolei, Hawai'i. The event took place from October 23 to 25 at the Kapolei Golf Course, where the Eagles finished 11th among 15 teams on the par-72, 6,231-yard course.
The team showed consistent improvement throughout the tournament with scores of 300, 290, and 289 over three rounds. This performance resulted in a total score of 879, surpassing the previous school record of 880 set in September 2015 at the Cardinal Classic. Colorado State University and Kansas State University secured first and second places respectively.
Savannah de Bock led Eastern Michigan's efforts by tying for seventh place individually with a score of five-under-par 211 (72-71-68). "Savannah de Bock made it four consecutive tournaments this year in which she finished below par and four consecutive tournaments in which she placed in the top eight," stated an official report. De Bock's score matched Anna Watson's previous program record before De Bock set a new one earlier this season.
Mariana Vega tied for 32nd with a career-best score of three-over-par 219 (76-71-72), while Riley Kim tied for 42nd with six-over-par 222 (79-72-71). Other notable performances included Amaya Melendez finishing tied for 71st and Julianna Go tying for her season-best score.
The team's next competition is scheduled at the Hurricane Invitational hosted by the University of Miami from October 28 to October 29.
