Eastern Michigan University's Bobby Jones has been named to the All-MAC Second Team for the 2024 baseball season. This recognition is a first for Jones, marking the 18th consecutive year that an Eastern Michigan Eagle has earned an all-conference honor.

Head Coach Robbie Britt expressed his excitement about Jones' achievement, stating, "We are excited for Bobby and this recognition. It has been incredibly fulfilling for us to watch his growth as both a person and as a pitcher. We look forward to Bobby continuing to lead our pitching staff as we progress into next season."

Assistant Coach Craig Prince also praised Jones' consistent performance throughout the season: "There is no one more deserving than Bobby Jones, he was called upon in many tough situations and was the same guy every single time. He was our most reliable guy throughout the season, and answered every time we called upon him. I couldn't be happier with his efforts and perseverance throughout the year."

Jones achieved impressive national rankings during the season, placing seventh in strikeout-to-walk ratio (7.86) on April 17 and ninth in walks allowed per nine innings (1.05) on April 3. In conference play, he led with 86 innings pitched and ranked third with five wins and fourth with 79 strikeouts.

Serving as Eastern's Friday starter, Jones led his team in several categories including ERA (6.28), WHIP (1.31), wins (five), innings pitched (86), and strikeouts (79). He also held opponents to a .255 batting average.

The senior set personal bests during the season, including career-highs of 10 strikeouts on April 13 and eight innings pitched on March 23. In his final start against Northern Illinois University on May 16, he completed eight innings allowing two earned runs.
