Eastern Michigan University has seen six of its football players recognized in Phil Steele's Preseason All-Mid-American Conference teams. The announcement from Phil Steele's College Football Preview highlights the achievements of these athletes.
Peyton Price, a defensive lineman, and Mitchell Tomasek, a punter, have been named to the second team. Meanwhile, kicker Jesús Gómez, linebacker JT Killen, offensive lineman Mickey Rewolinski, and defensive back Daiquan White received third-team honors.
Price played all 13 games last season with 12 starts. He achieved career highs in several categories including 47 tackles and four sacks. His performance was consistent throughout the season.
Tomasek holds a career average of 45 yards per punt and was previously named First Team All-MAC for two consecutive years. In 2023, he punted for over 3,000 yards with nearly one-third of his punts exceeding 50 yards.
Gómez made an impact by finishing 12-of-16 on field goals last year and scoring 57 points overall. His longest field goal tied for the 15th-longest in NCAA FBS history at Central Michigan.
Killen transferred from Coastal Carolina where he had an impressive collegiate career. Last year he recorded significant tackles including a standout game against Army West Point.
Rewolinski started nine games on EMU's offensive line last season. His efforts contributed to running back Samson Evans achieving notable rushing touchdowns in the MAC.
White impressed during his freshman year by starting in most games and being named E-Gridiron Group Defensive Newcomer of the Year. He made substantial contributions with tackles and quarterback hurries.
