Eastern Michigan University has announced the signing of Godslove Nwabude to its men's basketball team. Head Coach Stan Heath confirmed the addition on Thursday, May 16.
Nwabude, from Lanham, Maryland and a product of Mt. Zion Prep, is a 6'9 forward with a wingspan of 7'4. As an incoming freshman for the 2024-25 season, he has four years of eligibility ahead.
"We are very excited to bring Godslove here," said Heath. "He's got such a high ceiling and a really good motor. He's a high character kid and is very coachable. I think with his size - 6'9, 230 - he can give us a presence inside right away. He's got good hands, touch, and is very athletic, too. His upside is really at a high level. We're excited - he should give us some rebounding, toughness, and physicality. I think our fans are going to be really excited and enjoy watching his growth and development."
Nwabude had offers from several prominent programs including Mississippi State University, University of Missouri, and West Virginia University.
He joins Dillon Tingler as part of the new recruits for Eastern Michigan's upcoming season. The Eagles have also added Christian Henry from Chicago's The Skill Factory in Atlanta via Panola College; Jalen Terry from Flint Beecher High School who previously played for Oregon and DePaul; along with De'Sean Nelson from Toledo's Robert S. Rogers High School through Kilgore College and DePaul.
Fans eager to see these newcomers in action can visit the George Gervin GameAbove Center during the 2024-25 season or contact the EMU Ticket Office for more information.
