Eastern Michigan University's football program hosted its annual Victory Day event on May 22, welcoming over 225 community members to Scicluna Field. The event catered to individuals with cognitive and physical impairments from five counties, offering them a day of football activities alongside EMU student-athletes, coaches, and staff.

Participants ranged in age from five to their forties and were divided into groups to engage in various activities. These included throwing into nets, tackling drills, agility exercises, and touchdown celebrations. The Freshmen Leadership Group organized the on-field events, which concluded with a medal ceremony and group photo as attendees cheered "GO EAGLES!" Lunch followed at the George Gervin GameAbove Center.

Victory Day was initiated in 2010 by Aaron Segedi, a Trenton teacher and varsity football defensive coordinator. Diagnosed with cancer in 2005 due to primary sclerosing cholangitis, Segedi emphasizes character building through this event. Victory Day has expanded beyond its origins to schools across Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.

In preparation for the upcoming season at "The Factory," renovations are underway including new turf installation and renaming the field "Maxx Crosby Field" after NFL player Maxx Crosby's $1 million donation. Stadium upgrades are expected to be completed by late May.

Tickets for the 2024 season can be purchased via phone or online through EMUEagles.com/tickets or directly at the Ticket Office inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center during business hours.
