The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) baseball team is preparing to host its final home series of the 2024 season against Bowling Green State University (BGSU) at Oestrike Stadium in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The Mid-American Conference series will take place from Friday to Sunday, May 10-12.
Fans can follow the games via live stats and watch links available on the EMU baseball schedule page. Updates will also be provided on EMU's social media platforms.
After facing BGSU, the Eagles will travel to play Michigan State University in a non-conference game on Tuesday, May 14.
Logan Hugo and Glenn Miller have both reached 100 career hits this season for EMU. Cory Taylor is close behind with 99 hits. "If Taylor reaches the 100 mark this season it would be the first time EMU has had three players accomplish the feat in one season since 2022," notes the release.
EMU ranks third in the MAC for batting average and fourth for hits. "Cory Taylor had five hits in Eastern's game against Oakland University, April 9," marking a significant achievement since Jeff Timko did so in 2018.
The Eagles hold a historical advantage over BGSU with an all-time record of 111-77. They are set to meet for their 189th encounter on Friday.
On Sunday, EMU will honor its nine seniors: Evan Sines, Glenn Miller, Cole Wilcox, Blake McRae, Kyle Schroedle, Cory Taylor, Logan Milene, Isiah Lindsey, and Nick Chittum. These seniors have contributed significantly to EMU's successes over recent seasons.
Max Schuemann recently became the latest former Eagle to make his Major League Baseball debut with the Oakland Athletics. Schuemann recorded his first MLB hit and home run against Cleveland Guardians on April 20.
