Eastern Michigan University's gymnastics team has announced its schedule for the 2025 season. Head Coach Katie Minasola revealed that the Eagles will host five home competitions at the George Gervin GameAbove Center in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
"We are looking forward to hosting five home meets in the George Gervin GameAbove Center," said Minasola. "The meets kick off with several different themes, including Ypsi Days, Golden Girls Classic, Purple/Alumni, Greek Life and our Senior Meet. Along with a packed home schedule, we anticipate a lot of MACtion throughout the season, and we are excited to head out West to California for a great double meet weekend. We want to see YOU at the George Gervin GameAbove Center this season!"
Before starting their official 2025 campaign, the Eagles will participate in a scrimmage hosted by the University of Michigan on December 6 in Ann Arbor. Other participants expected include Western Michigan University and Central Michigan University.
The new year marks EMU's 48th season, beginning with three consecutive home meets. The first is against Bowling Green on January 12 at the George Gervin GameAbove Center. In their last meeting on February 24, EMU secured a first-place finish with a score of 196.100.
On January 17, EMU will host the Golden Girls Classic featuring Northern Illinois and other teams such as Ball State and Winona State. They continue their homestand against Kent State on January 26.
Subsequent matches take EMU on the road: DeKalb for Northern Illinois on February 2; Kalamazoo against Western Michigan on February 9; and Mt. Pleasant facing Central Michigan on February 14. They return briefly to host Western Michigan and Wilberforce on February 27.
The team then travels west for meets against UC Davis and San Jose State Spartans on March 7 and Sacramento State on March 9 before concluding their regular season with Ball State University at home on March 14.
The MAC Championships are scheduled for March 22 at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant. If they qualify, EMU could compete at NCAA Regionals from April 2-6 across four potential locations: Salt Lake City, Seattle, Tuscaloosa or University Park. The NCAA Championships will be held from April 17-19 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth.
