The Mid-American Conference (MAC) has announced its weekly football awards, recognizing two players from Eastern Michigan University. Cole Snyder was named MAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, while Jesús Gómez received the title of MAC Co-Special Teams Player of the Week. Both athletes played crucial roles in Eastern Michigan's comeback victory against Central Michigan University, overcoming an 18-point deficit to win 38-34.
Cole Snyder, a quarterback from Lakewood, New York, led the Eagles' comeback with significant contributions in the fourth quarter. He threw for 110 yards and two touchdowns and added a game-winning rushing touchdown. This performance marked his first 300-yard passing game with Eastern Michigan and his first since September 2022 when he played for the University at Buffalo.
Jesús Gómez, hailing from Puebla, Mexico, had a flawless day as a kicker. He successfully completed three field goals and three PATs against Central Michigan. Gómez leads the MAC with 66 points and 15 made field goals this season. Nationally, he ranks second in field goals made per game.
Since the beginning of the season, Eastern Michigan has earned seven weekly awards from the MAC across various categories. The team will next face the University of Akron on October 26.
