Delbert Mimms III contributed significantly to EMU's ground game, rushing for 78 yards and scoring one touchdown. This marked his fifth game out of six this season where he scored a touchdown. Additionally, Mimms forced a fumble during a punt return, which was recovered by Daniel Warnsman.

Eastern Michigan managed to narrow Miami's lead to one score late in the third quarter with Mimms' one-yard touchdown run. Max Reese recorded seven receptions for 50 yards, marking a career-high performance for him.

On defense, Luke Murphy led EMU with ten tackles, achieving a personal best for the season. Despite their efforts, Eastern Michigan struggled to maintain momentum against Miami's offense.
