The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) volleyball team is preparing for a significant challenge as they head to Ohio to compete against the Mid-American Conference (MAC) leader, Bowling Green State University, and then face the University of Toledo. The matches are scheduled for Thursday, October 10 at 6 p.m. and Friday, October 11 at 6 p.m.

Fans can keep up with the matches through live streaming and stats available on EMU's official volleyball schedule page. Updates will also be shared on social media platforms including X and Instagram via @EMUVolleyball.

The upcoming match against Bowling Green marks the 67th encounter between the two teams since their first meeting in 1977. Historically, Eastern holds a record of 26-40 against Bowling Green but has shown resilience with past victories, including an upset win in 2022 when they overcame a substantial ranking difference.

Facing Toledo for the 84th time, Eastern has historically performed well with a record of 61-23 against them. Their last victory over Toledo was during the COVID-adjusted season in March 2020.

Eastern Michigan aims to secure three consecutive wins for the first time since their MAC Tournament success in 2018. Currently ranked high nationally in several statistical categories, EMU stands second nationwide in total blocks with a figure of 193.5.

In MAC standings, Eastern leads in total blocks and blocks per set while holding top positions in other categories like points and digs. They are off to a strong start this season with a conference record of four wins out of five games.

Recent performances have seen key players like Hannah Blaney and Hatteras Welker receiving recognition as MAC Defensive Players of the Week for their contributions on court. Additionally, standout performances from players such as Ava Siefke have propelled Eastern's presence nationally in service aces.

After these away games, EMU will return home to Ypsilanti for a four-match homestand starting October 17 against Northern Illinois followed by Western Michigan on October 18.
