Five Eastern Michigan University (EMU) track and field student-athletes are set to compete at the 2024 World Athletics U20 Championships. The event will take place at Estadio Atletico de la Videna in Lima, Peru, from August 27-31.

Representing EMU are Nikol Antoniadi from Greece, Fiaku Ezechukwuchiri from Nigeria, Ryan Johnson from Ohio, Jake McEachern from Alberta, and Paige Marchant from Ontario.
Antoniadi will compete for Team Greece in the 100m hurdles on Thursday, August 29. She recently clocked a personal best of 14.02 seconds at the University of Michigan's Len Paddock Open.
Ezechukwuchiri will represent Nigeria in the high jump on Wednesday, August 28. His best mark this season is 2.18 meters.
McEachern and Johnson will participate in the hammer throw for Team USA and Team Canada respectively on Tuesday, August 27. McEachern is ranked 11th globally in his age group and has earned All-MAC Second Team honors following his performance at the Bell Track & Field Trials. Johnson won the U20 competition at the USA Track & Field Championships with a toss of 71.06 meters and was named Freshman Field Performer of the Year after both MAC Indoor and Outdoor Championships.
Marchant will run for Team Canada in the 1500m on Wednesday, August 28. She made history by winning three events at this past season's MAC Indoor Championships and received multiple awards including MAC Women's Freshman Track Performer of the Year.
