MAC releases preseason volleyball coaches poll and All-MAC team

The Mid-American Conference (MAC) released its 2024 Preseason Volleyball Coaches Poll and All-MAC Team on Monday, August 26.

Western Michigan University secured the top spot with 11 first-place votes and a total of 121 points. The university also led the MAC Tournament Champions voting with nine votes. Bowling Green State University followed in second place with one first-place vote, 102 points, and two votes to win the MAC Tournament. Ball State University was ranked third with 98 points and received one vote to finish as tournament champions.

The fourth through sixth positions were taken by the University at Buffalo (92 points), Ohio University (84 points), and the University of Toledo (79 points), respectively.

Central Michigan University was placed seventh with 50 points, followed by Northern Illinois University in eighth with 49 points. The University of Akron was selected to finish ninth, collecting 48 points.

Miami University is predicted to finish tenth with 32 points. Kevin Foeman's Eagles were slotted eleventh with 22 points, while Kent State University was selected to finish twelfth with 15 points.

The Eagles are set to open their season at the Hampton Inn Invitational hosted by Indiana University-Indianapolis at "The Jungle" in Indianapolis on Friday-Saturday from August 30-31. Eastern will start the tournament against Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville on Friday at 10 a.m.
