Eastern Michigan University announces open rowing tryouts for female students

Eastern Michigan University (EMU) announced open tryouts for its rowing program, scheduled from September 6 to September 20. Head Coach Kemp Savage made the announcement on Wednesday, August 21. The tryouts are available to all full-time female students at EMU who are interested in joining the Eagles rowing team. No prior experience is required.

Prospective participants must attend one of three informational meetings before the tryouts. The meetings will be held at the Student Center Room 350 on the following dates:

- Monday, August 26 at 7 p.m.

- Tuesday, August 27 at 7 p.m.

- Wednesday, August 28 at 7 p.m.

Students interested in trying out should complete a questionnaire available at bit.ly/EMURowingTryouts24 and can contact Assistant Coach Delaney McGuire via email at mccgui11@emich.edu for additional information.

Before participating in the tryouts, students must meet several requirements:

1. Provide proof of a medical physical conducted by a physician within the last six months.

2. Show proof of health insurance coverage and submit a photocopy of both sides of their insurance card.

3. Complete an initial health appraisal and provide relevant medical records.

4. Present proof of sickle cell testing.

5. Be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at Eastern Michigan University.
