Eastern Michigan University’s soccer team is set for a busy week, with an away game at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) on August 22 and a home match against Youngstown State on August 25. The team recently secured a 1-0 victory over Oakland on August 15.

The upcoming game against UIC will be broadcast on ESPN+ at 6 p.m., with Conor Clingen providing commentary. Additionally, Eastern Michigan's home match against Youngstown State will also be aired on ESPN+, marking the first time in program history that a home match will be broadcasted. Tom Helmer will call the game.

Sophomore Cameryn Susey scored the decisive goal in the 85th minute against Oakland, assisted by Olivia Sipsock and junior Mary Grimes. This marked Susey's second career goal.

Head Coach Taylor Clarke is in his first season leading the Eagles, having replaced Scott Hall, who retired after the 2023 season. Clarke is supported by Associate Head Coach Matt Hinds and Assistant Coach Mary Carlson.

Eastern Michigan holds an all-time record of 250-246-70 and stands at 143-117-34 in MAC play. Senior Day festivities are planned for August 25 before or after the match against Youngstown State, honoring several student-athletes including Sophia D'Ambra and Vittoria Greco.

UIC enters their contest with Eastern Michigan holding a record of 1-0-0 for this season after defeating Chicago State. The Flames went 6-8-5 last year with a notable performance in the Missouri Valley Conference.

In their series history, Eastern Michigan leads UIC with a perfect record of four wins from four matches. Their most recent encounter was a narrow 2-1 victory for EMU on September 9, 2018.

Youngstown State started their season with a draw against Kent State and ended last year with a balanced record of seven wins, seven losses, and three draws. Historically, Eastern Michigan has dominated Youngstown State with five wins out of six encounters.

The Eagles have shown strong defensive capabilities this season under new leadership and are aiming to continue this trend in their upcoming matches.
