The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) women's basketball team, under the direction of first-year Head Coach Sahar Nusseibeh, announced its 2024-25 schedule on August 14. The Eagles will compete in 29 regular-season games, including 11 non-conference matchups and an 18-game Mid-American Conference (MAC) slate.
Eastern will host 14 games at the George Gervin GameAbove Center in Ypsilanti and participate in nine league contests. The top eight teams from the regular season standings will qualify for the 2025 MAC Tournament, scheduled for March 12-15 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio.
The season begins with a home game against Texas State University on November 4 as part of the MAC-SBC Challenge. This is followed by a home game against Alabama A&M University on November 9. On November 11, EMU travels to East Lansing to face Michigan State University, which reached the first round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament. Other notable non-conference games include matchups against Purdue University Fort Wayne and Xavier University.
In December, EMU will play five games with significant fixtures such as an away game against Notre Dame on December 15 and participation in the UTRGV Holiday Classic in Edinburg, Texas. The Eagles will face both the host Vaqueros and Missouri-Kansas City during this event.
As conference play begins in January, EMU opens at home against Western Michigan University on New Year's Day. Key MAC games include doubleheaders featuring both men's and women's teams against Akron and Toledo.
The Eagles' final stretch includes four out of seven home games starting February 15 against Ball State. The regular season concludes with a home game versus Bowling Green State University on March 8.
Game times and television details are pending announcement but all home games are slated for live broadcast on ESPN+. Select contests will also air live on WEMU (89.1 FM) and through the Varsity Network.
