The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) soccer program has been projected to finish 10th in the conference standings this year, according to the 2024 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Preseason Coaches Poll. The league announced the results on Tuesday, August 13.
The poll, which reflects the votes of the conference's 12 head coaches, awarded the Eagles 29 points. Western Michigan was picked to win the MAC with 116 points and received eight of the 12 first-place votes. Additionally, coaches cast votes for which team they believed would win the MAC Tournament, with Western Michigan receiving six votes.
The Eagles will begin their season on Thursday by hosting Oakland University at Scicluna Field. The match is scheduled for a 4:30 p.m. kickoff.

First-year Head Coach Taylor Clarke is leading the Eagles this season, joined by Associate Head Coach Matt Hinds and Assistant Coach Mary Carlson. Clarke replaced Scott Hall, who retired at the end of the 2023 season after amassing a record of 210-215-67 and winning MAC championships in 1999, 2003, and 2013.
In their freshman year in 2023, Kate Robinson and Olivia Sipsock combined for a total of 25 points, accounting for more than half of EMU's overall score of 48 points that season. Robinson was named MAC Freshman of the Year and led in assists while her total of 13 points topped all freshmen in the conference. Sipsock's contribution of 12 points tied for second-highest among MAC freshmen in that year.
