Eastern Michigan announces swimming and diving schedule for the upcoming season

The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) swimming and diving program, led by Head Swimming Coach Derek Perkins and Head Diving Coach Tom Gimm, announced its 2024-25 schedule on Thursday, Aug. 8.

The Eagles will compete in nine regular-season meets, culminating in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championships. The event will be hosted by the University at Buffalo at Alumni Arena Natatorium & Dorsi Raynolds Pool in Buffalo, N.Y., from Feb. 26 to March 1.

Eastern Michigan will begin its regular season with a non-conference meet against Cleveland State University on Friday, Oct. 18 at 3 p.m. The team will then enter MAC competition against the Buffalo Bulls on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. in western New York. Following this meet, Eastern will host Indiana State University on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m.

Subsequent meets include hosting Oakland University on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 4 p.m., and participating in the Denison Invitational in Granville, Ohio from Dec. 5-7.

In the new year, EMU divers will compete at the UB Diving Invite from Jan. 10-12. The swim and dive teams will then host the University of Toledo at Jones Natatorium on Friday, Jan. 17 at 5 p.m.

The Eagles' final regular-season MAC meet is scheduled against Ohio University in Athens on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 11 a.m.

The annual Senior Extravaganza is set for Saturday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m., followed by the Michigan First Chance meet hosted by the University of Michigan from Feb. 15-16.

Postseason events include select Eastern swimmers and divers competing at the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Invitational Championships in Ocala, Fla., from March 13-15. The Zone C Diving Championships are also scheduled for March 13-15 at a location yet to be determined.

The season concludes with the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships hosted by Washington State University at Gibb Pool in Federal Way, Wash., from March 19-22.
