Eastern Michigan University Head Men's Golf Coach Andy Walker has announced the addition of senior transfer Timothy Chan to the roster for the 2024-25 season. Chan, originally from Hong Kong, China, transfers from VCU where he had a notable first season.
At VCU, Chan played 27 rounds with a scoring average of 72.78 and recorded a low round of 66 at the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional. He posted 11 rounds of par-or-better and achieved significant finishes, including a third-place tie at the Los Vaqueros Intercollegiate and an 11th-place tie at the Hal Williams Collegiate. His performance was instrumental in VCU's 25-stroke victory at the Atlantic 10 Championships, marking the largest margin of victory since 1997. Prior to his time at VCU, Chan attended New Mexico Junior College where he contributed to five team tournament titles, played 34 rounds with an average score of 73.62, and secured seven top-20 finishes.
"I'm so glad Tim followed me to continue this journey," said Walker. "Tim was the catalyst to our team's success and gave us some incredible crucial rounds in the post-season. He will bring raw power and club speed that looks so effortless, with an innate ability to shoot really low numbers. He will look good in green and white."
Chan joins sophomore Pietro Fenoglio from Torino, Italy, and junior Rory McDonald O'Brien from Shrewsbury, England, who have also committed to Eastern Michigan University.
