On July 14, 2023, Congressman John Moolenaar voted for the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for 2024. This legislation includes the largest pay increase in over 20 years for U.S. service members, boosts oversight of the Department of Defense, helps secure the southern border, and increases U.S. preparation against the threat of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) aggression.

“I am proud to support the brave members of our military with higher pay and more resources for their families. This legislation will ensure our men and women in uniform have the support they need to carry out their missions. It will also save taxpayer dollars by insisting our military leadership focuses on protecting the country, and not on promoting woke diversity programs. The border crisis demands attention as well. That is why this legislation directs the Department of Defense to work with Congress to finish the wall on the southern border, and it fully funds a border deployment for the National Guard,” said Congressman John Moolenaar.

“The NDAA will also counter the increasingly aggressive threat of the CCP. It is vital for us to stop the CCP from purchasing land near military installations, and this legislation requires the Pentagon to identify sensitive sites and proactively protect them from outside land purchases. I urge the Senate to immediately consider this legislation,” Moolenaar added.
