Northwood & Mid Sign Transfer Agreement

“We are removing barriers to degree completion. This agreement symbolizes the strong relationship between Northwood and Mid Michigan College and most importantly helps us collectively serve our students’ needs,” stated Dr. Kristin Stehouwer, Provost and Vice President of Academics at Northwood University.

Per the new agreement, students can study at Mid Michigan College for three years and then transfer to Northwood to complete their degree in one year for the following high-demand majors: accounting, health care management, management, and management information systems.

“Beyond this agreement, Northwood and Mid both share a strong history of responding to the needs of our communities and providing access to an affordable education,” noted Tim Hood, President of Mid Michigan College. “This agreement acknowledges the hard work of our students and allows them to build upon the credits and credentials earned at Mid as they complete a bachelor’s degree at Northwood.”

Known as transfer agreements, articulation agreements are formal partnerships between two or more colleges. These agreements make it easier for students to transfer to a partnering school without the worry of losing credits.

The agreement signed last week allows Mid Michigan College students to transfer to Northwood with greater ease.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Stehouwer and Mid Michigan College’s President Tim Hood on Wednesday, February 2, at Mid’s Mt. Pleasant Campus.
