The Lakers had four starters contribute double figures, leading the way was Jayden Sims (Toledo,OH) with 24 points and 6 of 8 shooting. Closely behind Sims was Satchel Love (Detroit) who chipped in 23 points. Delon McCloud (Kentwood) also had a strong performance putting up 18 points and 4 assists. The Lakers return to action on Tuesday at Aquinas College for one final tune-up contest before conference play begins.

Mid's Women’s Basketball Overcomes Halftime Deficit to Down Kellogg

After dropping a tough game to Jackson College, Mid Michigan College's Women’s Basketball team was looking for a solid bounce-back performance in their final non-conference game on the road versus Kellogg Community College.

After a slow start, the Lakers outscored Kellogg 31-12 in the second half to push past the Bruins 54-39.

Leading the way with a strong double-double performance was Brooke Brauher (Big Rapids) with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Terre’ya Moore (Saginaw) had a near-double-double performance, scoring 11 points, 9 rebounds, and adding 5 steals. Bailey Vissman (Stanton) also entered double-digit scoring with 12 points, knocking down 3 of 5 three-point shots.

The Lakers return to the hardwood Saturday, January 14 as they host North Central Michigan College in their first conference competition.
