Laker Achievement Award Recipient Spotlight
Jaylen Rutherford ’20, a current student-athlete at Florida Memorial University, is passionate about mental health advocacy, especially in sports. In 2021, Rutherford launched his first company, “Mental Health for Athletes,” inspired by the tragedy of losing a teammate to suicide. Mental Health for Athletes sheds light on the mental health issues experienced by athletes and provides training for coaches and support to athletes.
