THE GREAT EGG DROP OF 2022: Mrs. Woodruff's STEM students have spent their time lately thinking about brain injuries and ways to prevent them. Their latest project found them designing a miniature football helmet that would house an egg and be built strong enough for the egg to make it through a drop of one foot undamaged.
Materials used to build the helmets included cardboard, egg cartons, rubber bands, yarn and tape. Some survived, some didn't. Or, to think of it another way, some ended up boiled; some ended up sunny side up.
