The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities (CBPU) will host its annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day event on Saturday, September 24th from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM at the Branch County Fairgrounds. Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day was created to keep drinking water and local natural resources safe from contamination. It allows residents in participating communities to dispose of the assorted, non-commercial, hazardous waste they may have in their homes free of charge.
To participate, you should do the following:
- Confirm that you are a resident of a participating community (See a list of participating communities here)
- Gather all of your ACCEPTED non-commercial, hazardous waste before the event (See a list of ACCEPTED and NOT ACCEPTED items here)
- On Saturday, September 24, 2022, enter the Branch County Fairgrounds off of Sprague St. and bring your driver's license to prove your residency in a participating community.
- Stay in your vehicle as you drop off your hazardous waste. You will be asked to stop in the red barn.
- A representative will collect your waste for you and properly dispose of it. At that point, you will be free to leave!
