Village of Shepherd recently issued the following announcement.
Hope everyone is staying dry with all this rain. Next week Monday October 18,2021 the DPW Crew will begin the fall task of leaf collection. Please be patient and try to help our crews with this task.
Please keep sticks and other debris out of the leaves the vacuums only like leaves.
Please don't deposit leaves into roadway obstructing traffic.
Please keep leaves/piles/rows back away from mailboxes so leaves can be gotten without mailboxes or leaf crew members getting hurt or damaged.
Windrows along the side of the road 4-5 feet wide are preferred and work the best to make sure our crews can get them cleaned up good.
We don't like to take the leaf units off the roadways because of the weight of the trucks and machines. Please keep the rows to the edge and if the crew does miss a little please rake them closer to the edge of roadway to help us. Any questions please call DPW at 828-5062.
