Cost of college went up for all students at Mid Michigan Community College

In-state tuition and fees rose 3.4 percent for 2018-19 at Mid Michigan Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Michigan residents paid $7,080 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $233 more than the $6,847 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid the same amount as residents this year, or $7,080. Their price tag grew 3.4 percent from $6,847 in 2017-18.

About 98 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Michigan residents. And about 1 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 80 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 259 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.6 million and 141 students took out student loans totaling more than $771,476.

Including all undergraduates (3,802), 1,869 students used grants or scholarships totaling $9.2 million, and 1,285 students took out $7.7 million in federal student loans.
