MIDMICHIGAN MEDICAL CENTER - GLADWIN: Midland Volunteers Continue Support of MidMichigan Health Projects

MidMichigan Medical Center - Gladwin issued the following announcement on June 24.

The volunteers at The Gift Shop of MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland recently completed a pledge to the MidMichigan Health Foundation in support of a variety of projects to help with patient comfort, equipment, services and technology. The volunteer group’s pledge of support for the 2019-20 year ended with a total of $166,744 donated from gift shop sales.

Mary Choate, chair of The Gift Shop, is pleased to know that her team’s efforts have made an impact. “We enjoy volunteering, of course,” said Choate. “Patient families and visitors stop in to see what’s available for their loved ones, and we also have regular employee shoppers and shoppers from the community who visit us. To be able to put the dollars we make back into helping with patient care and equipment is very rewarding.”

Projects the funds went to support include: a new tilt table and two patient chairs for Nuclear Medicine; a patient transport monitor for Invasive Imaging; six IV pumps for the Infusion Center; a workstation on wheels for the Infusion Center; two Panda Warmers for Maternal and Infant Services and an additional gift of $50,000 to support the Heart and Vascular Center which will open this fall.

“Our volunteers really are the best,” said Denise O’Keefe, executive director, MidMichigan Health Foundation. “Their dedication to supporting patients and their families, and raising funds for health care in our community, continues to inspire.”

As MidMichigan Health continues to maintain some visitor restrictions, a visitor pass must be issued to enter The Gift Shop. Phone orders may be placed for flowers and deliveries by calling (989) 839-3961.
