CITY OF MOUNT PLEASANT: Mt. Pleasant High School Social Media Threat Deemed a Prank - No Risk to the Public

City of Mount Pleasant issued the following announcement on Oct. 30. 

On October 29, 2019 the Mt. Pleasant Police Department (MPPD) was informed of a social media post involving a Mt. Pleasant High School student possibly bringing a gun to school. The MPPD investigated the complaint. The student admitted to the post and stated it was meant as a prank. There have been no additional threats on social media since the original post. Mt. Pleasant High School followed all proper safety procedures and worked in conjunction with the Mt. Pleasant Police Department. There is no safety risk to students, staff or public.
