Bill G. Schuette, a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, provided updates on the state budget process through a series of posts on his social media account.

On October 1, 2025, Schuette informed constituents about recent legislative actions: "Early yesterday morning, we voted on a 7 Day Continuing Resolution which will keep State Government fully funded until the budget is finalized and presented. I will keep working for a budget that delivers value for your tax dollar."

In another post from the same day, Schuette reported progress in negotiations among state leaders: "*BUDGET UPDATE* The Michigan House, Senate and Governor have agreed on a FY26 budget - that legislation is currently being drafted (which takes longer than you might think!) and will be ready to be reviewed and voted on later this week."

On October 2, 2025, Schuette thanked participants in his public engagement session regarding the fiscal year 2026 budget: "Thanks to all who tuned into my “Ask Bill G. Live” today as we discussed working toward a FY26 budget. I’ll keep working diligently to finalize a budget that provides value for your tax dollar and funds our schools, safety and infrastructure."

The Michigan state legislature typically passes continuing resolutions to prevent government shutdowns when final budgets are not yet approved. Such measures ensure essential services remain operational while lawmakers complete negotiations.

Schuette's posts reflect ongoing efforts by Michigan lawmakers to reach consensus on funding priorities for the coming fiscal year.
