PUNTA ARENAS, Chile – Eastern Michigan University women's basketball senior Sisi Eleko led Canada to a 2-1 record on the first day of the 2025 FIBA 3x3 Youth Nations America Stop One Tournament in Punta Arenas, Chile. Eleko contributed significantly to Canada's 15-13 victory over the United States and a decisive 22-5 win against the Cayman Islands.

Eleko, from Montreal, Quebec, is currently Team Canada's leading scorer with a total of 21 points on day one, tying for the second-highest score in the tournament. "It means the world to represent Team Canada, my family, and the Eastern Michigan program on an international level," Eleko expressed. "It's truly a dream come true and I can't thank God enough for the opportunity."

Her standout performance came against the Cayman Islands where she scored 12 points. She added five more points in a close 21-19 loss to Chile. The remaining game details and streaming links are available online.

Head Coach Sahar Nusseibeh commented on Eleko's participation: "Representing her country for FIBA 3x3 is an incredible opportunity that Sisi {Eleko} has earned," Nusseibeh said. "She works like a pro and is relentless in accomplishing her goals. This is a great step forward for her and we have all the confidence that she will continue to do Eastern women's basketball proud!"

In her previous season at EMU, Eleko was named to the All-MAC Second Team and ranked among top players statistically in several categories within MAC. Nationally, she placed prominently in rebounds per game and double-doubles.

Eleko's performance during her first season at Ypsilanti included scoring 500 points and collecting 283 rebounds, both significant achievements within EMU history. Her averages made her one of only three Eagles players to achieve a double-double average in a season.
