Eastern Michigan track & field concludes season at NCAA East First Round

Eight athletes from Eastern Michigan University's track and field team concluded their season at the NCAA East First Round in Jacksonville, Florida. The event, hosted by the University of North Florida at Visit Jax Hodges Stadium, took place from May 28 to May 31. The athletes competed for a chance to advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.

Five male and three female athletes represented EMU at the meet. On the men's side, Jake McEachern participated in the hammer throw on May 28, finishing 29th with a throw of 61.80 meters. Kian Wiles ran in the 1500m event, placing 36th with a time of 3:35.40. Gabe Singh competed in the 400m hurdles and finished 27th with a time of 51.14 seconds.

On May 30, Brendan Hill and Lucky Fiaku both participated in the high jump competition. Hill cleared a height of 2.10 meters on his first attempt to finish in 19th place, while Fiaku cleared the same height on his third attempt to secure a 24th-place finish.

For the women's team, Isabella Brent began her competition on May 29 with a hammer throw that landed her in 45th place with a distance of 52.67 meters. Saraiah Walkes ran in the first round of the women's 400m dash and finished in 31st place with a time of 53.18 seconds.

Micah Martin completed EMU's participation on May 31 by competing in the high jump event for women, finishing in 27th place after clearing a height of 1.74 meters.
