Eastern Michigan University student-athletes Logan Hugo and Raisa Boris have been named recipients of the Medal of Excellence Award. The awards will be presented during the 2025 Honors Dinner Ceremony at the Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Tower, part of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Spring Meetings on May 29.
The Medal of Excellence is awarded annually to one male and one female student-athlete from each of the 12 conference member institutions. To qualify, athletes must participate in a varsity-level Conference-sponsored sport, maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50, and demonstrate excellence in athletics, leadership, and service. Honorees are selected by their respective institutions.
Logan Hugo, from Essexville, Michigan, was a four-year member of EMU's baseball team. In 2025, he achieved a .308 batting average with 12 home runs and 62 RBIs. His performance ranks him eighth for single-season RBIs in program history. He was named Second-Team All-MAC after reaching base at a career-high .416 clip this year.
Raisa Boris, hailing from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, was a five-year member of EMU's gymnastics team. She posted a 39.025 all-around score at the 2025 NCAA Regionals and was recognized as MAC's Senior Gymnast of the Year for two consecutive seasons.
"These Medal of Excellence recipients truly embody what it means to be a MAC student-athlete," said MAC Commissioner Jon Steinbrecher. "Their accomplishments in the classroom and in competition, along with their leadership and community involvement, reflect their outstanding character and dedication."
