Eastern Michigan University baseball players Drew Beckner and Logan Hugo have been named to the All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) Second Team. This recognition marks the first time both athletes have received this honor in their careers. It also extends Eastern Michigan's streak of having at least one player earn all-conference honors for 19 consecutive seasons.
Beckner, a sophomore from Westerville, Ohio, has made significant strides in his second NCAA Division I season as a pitcher. As the Eagles' Friday starter, he has made 14 starts, pitching 73.1 innings—the fourth-most in the MAC—and striking out 75 batters, ranking him third in the conference. He holds a 3-2 record with an ERA of 5.52 and a WHIP of 1.55.
On April 14, Beckner was named MAC Pitcher of the Week after an impressive performance against the University of Toledo Rockets on April 11, where he pitched 6.2 innings without allowing an earned run and held opposing batters to a .174 average.
Logan Hugo, a junior from Essexville, Michigan, has shown consistent improvement at the plate this season. He achieved career highs in several categories including batting average (.320), slugging percentage (.584), and OPS (1.011). Hugo ranks among the top in various conference statistics: fourth in RBI and stolen bases, sixth in walks, ninth in runs and home runs.
Hugo had a standout game on March 22 against Miami University with five hits, two home runs, six RBI—setting personal records for each category. His performance earned him MAC Player of the Week on February 25 after batting .538 over several games.
The achievements by Beckner and Hugo bring Eastern Michigan University's total All-MAC honors to 121. They are set to compete next in the MAC Tournament Championship against Ball State on May 21.
