The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) football program recently hosted its fourth annual "Empty The Nest" event on May 16 at the Eagle Crest Golf Course in Ypsilanti. This initiative aims to support senior student-athletes by connecting them with EMU alumni who have become leaders in various fields.

The event facilitates networking opportunities for student-athletes, allowing them to engage in two 25-minute sessions with mentors aligned with their career interests. Discussions covered topics such as job interview strategies, transitioning from sports to professional life, and insights into specific industries.

Participants began the evening by introducing themselves before breaking into table groups for dinner discussions. After dining, each player spent time with mentors during two rotating sessions, followed by a 30-minute social period designed to maximize interaction between students and mentors across different fields.

Mentors were selected based on feedback from student-athletes regarding their career aspirations. The list of mentors included professionals from diverse sectors such as real estate, health care, journalism, law enforcement, and education.
