Jeffery and Clemetson excel for Eastern Michigan at MAC Outdoor Championships

Multi-event athletes from Eastern Michigan University made significant contributions on the second day of the 2025 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships, held at Ohio University's Goldsberry Track in Athens. The men's team currently holds third place with 41 points, while the women's team is in sixth with a total of 32 points.

Samuel Jeffery and Shamoya Clemetson were standout performers for EMU, setting multiple program top-10 marks and earning personal bests. Jeffery's efforts in the decathlon secured him a silver medal with 7,018 points, contributing eight points to the team's score. Cason Doolittle also performed well, finishing fourth with a career-best score of 6,640 points.

In field events, Formula Thompson placed third in the long jump with a leap of 7.33 meters, adding eight points to EMU's tally. The Eagles had success in preliminary track events as well, with nine athletes advancing to finals across various disciplines.

On the women's side, Clemetson delivered a strong heptathlon performance, achieving nine program top-10 marks and personal bests to finish fourth overall with 5,006 points. She set a new program record in the long jump within the heptathlon category.
