Angelica Holman led Eastern Michigan University to a second-place finish at the Women's National Golf Invitational held from May 9-11 at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Course in Maricopa, Arizona. Holman maintained her lead throughout the tournament, securing the individual title with an even-par score of 216. Her performance helped EMU finish just four strokes behind Santa Clara University, which won the event.
The Eagles concluded the tournament with a score of 26-over 890, while Santa Clara posted a winning score of 22-over 886. The University of North Texas secured third place with a score of 33-over 897.
Holman's victory marks her first as an NCAA Division I player and adds to her previous win at the NJCAA National Championships in May 2024. She is now one of sixteen Eagles to have claimed medalist honors in EMU history.
Erina Tan also delivered a strong performance for EMU, tying for fifth place with Audrey Brust from Santa Clara at three-over-par 219. Tan's final round included a career-best score of 69.
Other notable performances came from Mariana Vega, Julianna Go, and Riley Kim who placed further down the leaderboard but contributed to EMU's overall success.
EMU tied its best finish of the season after previously securing second place at the UNCW River Landing Classic earlier this year. The team recorded two rounds that ranked among their all-time top scores, demonstrating consistent improvement throughout the season.
As this marks the end of their collegiate season, Eastern Michigan will look back on their achievements and prepare for future competitions.
