Savannah de Bock made significant progress at the NCAA Columbus Regional, moving up 10 spots in the standings after shooting a 4-over 76 on the Scarlet Course at Ohio State University Golf Club. De Bock, an Eastern Michigan University sophomore, was tied for 44th place after the first round and now shares the 34th position with a total score of 7-over 151.
De Bock's performance began with a bogey on hole No. 10 but she managed to shoot par for the next eight holes, finishing her first nine at 1-over 37. Despite challenges on holes two and three where she scored a double-bogey and bogey respectively, she concluded with six pars, resulting in a second-round score of 4-over 76.
She is currently tied with Mackenzie Lee from Southern Methodist University while outperforming Josefin Widal from LSU, Amy DeKock from the University of Kansas, and Taylor Riley from Louisiana State University.
The leaderboard is competitive with Lyla Louderbaugh from Kansas leading at 5-under 139. Kendall Todd from Arkansas and Emily Odwin from SMU are tied for second place. Moa Svedenskiold from Houston stands as the top individual not on a qualifying team that could advance to the NCAA Championships based on current standings.
In team rankings, Arkansas leads followed by UNLV, Ohio State, and Kansas. SMU holds fifth place but faces competition from LSU and Kent State who are just one stroke behind.
The final round will take place on Wednesday, May 7. Savannah de Bock will begin her round on hole No.1 alongside Vanessa Zhang from Harvard and Isabella McCauley from the University of Minnesota.
