Eastern Michigan University's track and field teams delivered notable performances despite challenging weather conditions during the Jesse Owens Classic in Columbus, Ohio, and the Duke Twilight Meet in Durham, North Carolina. The events took place from May 2-4.

At the Jesse Owens Classic, Brendan Hill and Lucky Fiaku both achieved a high jump of 2.12 meters, marking the best in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) this season. Gabe Singh secured first place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 50.62 seconds, leading the MAC.

The Duke Twilight Meet saw Kian Wiles improve his MAC-leading time in the 1500m run to 3:40.73, finishing twelfth. In women's events at Duke, Chloie Musta finished twelfth in the 800m run with a personal-best time of 2:08.08.

Weather issues led to incomplete events at the Jesse Owens Classic, including hurdles and relay races.

Samuel Jeffery won the long jump with a leap of 6.98 meters at Jesse Owens Classic. Jake McEachern's hammer throw reached 61.57 meters, placing him second.

Ashtan Winfrey excelled in her hometown by achieving a personal best of 5.83 meters in the long jump at Jesse Owens Classic.

Looking ahead, Eastern Michigan will compete at Hillsdale College on May 7 and at the Len Paddock Open hosted by the University of Michigan on May 9.
