The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team has accepted an invitation to participate in the Women's National Golf Invitational. The tournament will take place from May 9-11 at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Course in Maricopa, Arizona, located just south of Phoenix. This event is organized in partnership with Golfweek and includes ten teams that did not qualify for the NCAA Regionals starting on May 5.
Ranked No. 125 in the April 30 Scoreboard/Clippd rankings, Eastern Michigan is one of two Mid-American Conference teams invited to the tournament. Bowling Green State University, ranked No. 164, will also compete. Other participating teams include No. 71 University of North Texas, No. 84 University of North Carolina Wilmington, No. 88 Mercer University, No. 94 Santa Clara University, No. 100 Rutgers University (the defending champion), No. 112 University of North Carolina Greensboro, No. 114 Oral Roberts University, and No. 119 Seattle University.
