McDonald-O'Brien runner-up at MAC Men's Golf Championships

Rory McDonald-O'Brien achieved a runner-up position at the 2025 Mid-American Conference Men's Golf Championship, leading Eastern Michigan University (EMU) to third place at Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City, Ohio. This marks the team's 14th top-three finish in program history and the first since 2019.

Kent State University secured the championship at 10-under 854, while Ball State University, the previous year's champions, finished second at 6-over 870. Eastern Michigan's scorecard read 8-over 872. Northern Illinois University placed fourth, 11-over 875, followed by Miami University at 15-over 879.

Eastern Michigan, a three-time MAC champion, bettered its previous record with 872 strokes, marking the fewest for the program in the 54-hole era. McDonald-O'Brien, from Shrewsbury, England, completed the tournament at 5-over 211, achieving second place, while Kent State's Jordan Gilkison won individual honors at 8-under 208.

Tim Chan tied for 13th at 4-over 220, while Daniel Robles Delval tied for 21st at 7-over 223. Bavake Sihota and James Baxter finished tied for 31st and tied for 34th, respectively.

Next, the Eagles await potential selection for an at-large berth in the 2025 NCAA Regionals. The NCAA Selection Show is scheduled to air on April 30.
