Former Eastern Michigan University quarterback Cole Snyder received an invitation to join the Detroit Lions' minicamp following the NFL Draft. Snyder's performance in his sole season at EMU drew attention. In 2024, he started all 12 games, becoming only the fifth quarterback for Eastern since 2004 to achieve this. He finished the season with 3,014 total yards of offense, ranking sixth in EMU's single-season record books, with his achievements marking the first time since 2021 an Eagle reached such numbers.

Snyder completed 240 passes out of 402 attempts, amassing 2,685 passing yards and 15 touchdowns. Additionally, he contributed 329 rushing yards and scored four touchdowns on the ground. His skill shone through in three games where he surpassed 300 passing yards, including a personal best of 354 yards with two touchdowns against Akron on October 26 and a 351-yard, three-touchdown performance against Buffalo on November 20.

Since 2015, Eastern Michigan football has produced six players drafted into the NFL, while another 32 have secured free-agent contracts or minicamp invites. This growing footprint in the NFL scene under the coaching of Chris Creighton showcases the team's talent development and scouting recognition.
