Meg Nemnich has been appointed as the Assistant Coach of the Eastern Michigan University soccer team. This announcement was made by Head Coach Taylor Clarke on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
Previously, Nemnich was a player at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where she spent four years as a student-athlete. During her senior year, she earned All-Summit Second-Team honors.
"We are really excited about adding Meg to our staff," said Clarke. "She brings a mentality that aligns perfectly with our program. She is coming from a championship level environment and will help move us closer to our goals. Meg has a very strong understanding of the game and will be able to help our players develop on the field."
Throughout her time at Omaha, Nemnich played 69 matches, with 37 starts, primarily at midfield. She scored two goals and provided one assist, including a notable game-winner against the University of North Dakota on October 10, 2024.
"I'm truly honored to be at Eastern Michigan University and very grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the program and the Ypsilanti community," Nemnich said. "Taylor and Matt have already made significant progress in advancing the team, and I'm genuinely excited for the chance to help build on that momentum and work toward winning championships."
In 2024, the Omaha team, with Nemnich playing a significant role in all 18 matches, achieving 17 starts, recorded a 10-3-5 finish. The team also secured their first-ever Summit League Title and an NCAA Tournament berth as a Division I program after consecutive clean sheets in the 2022 Summit League Tournament.
Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Nemnich graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in December 2024 with a degree in Multidisciplinary Studies and a concentration in Psychology. Her father, Sean, has ties to Michigan through his achievements in soccer at Michigan State University.
Nemnich's soccer journey began at the University of Memphis and included playing center-mid with St. Louis Scott Gallagher ECNL while training at US Training Centers in Columbia, Missouri.
