Tracy Grollman, a lacrosse player from Eastern Michigan University (EMU), has been selected as the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league on April 23. This accolade comes shortly after Grollman was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week on April 22.
To qualify for the scholar-athlete award, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade-point average and demonstrate competitive excellence during the previous week. The Faculty Athletic Representatives in the MAC are responsible for voting on this award.
Grollman, who originates from Annapolis, Maryland, is preparing to graduate in criminal justice with a concentration in law enforcement. Her outstanding performance during a 16-12 victory against the University of Akron on April 20 included team highs of five goals, three assists, and eight points. These achievements helped EMU secure its eighth win of the year and clinch a spot in the MAC Tournament for a second consecutive time. Just a game prior, Grollman had scored six points against Kent State University on April 13.
Her five goals surpass her previous career high set on April 19, 2023, at Robert Morris University. Grollman achieved a double-hat trick by netting three goals for a second time. Her decisive fifth goal against Akron provided EMU a lead they maintained, marking her second game-winning goal this season and her career.
The scholar-athlete recognition is Grollman's first weekly academic award and the second recorded in the program's history, following Mackenzie Blackwell's selection on April 9.
Eastern Michigan is set to play its final regular season game against Marquette University on April 25 at Scicluna Field, marking Senior Day. Post-game, the program will honor its seniors: Grollman, Savannah Berner, Avery Schwab, and Laurelle Weisbrod. The match will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
