The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) women's golf team is preparing to compete in the 2025 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championships, which will take place at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Indiana from April 20 to 22. The Eagles aim to earn their first league title in program history while competing against nine other teams on the par-72, 6,053-yard course. Both the team and individual champions of the tournament will automatically qualify for the 2025 NCAA Regional Championships.
The EMU team includes Savannah de Bock, a sophomore with an average score of 72.4, and three-time MAC Golfer of the Week. Other key players are sophomore Julianna Go, junior Angelica Holman, sophomore Riley Kim, freshman Erina Tan, and freshman Mariana Vega. Notably, Savannah de Bock was named to the 2024 ANNIKA Award Fall Watch List, a testament to her performance in collegiate golf.
Eastern Michigan has historically come close to winning the league title, finishing second seven times. This season, the team holds a 3-2-0 record in head-to-head competition against fellow MAC opponents and boasts a best four-player scoring average of 301.2, an improvement over their previous school record. Notably, Savannah de Bock leads the team with six top-10 finishes this year.
In terms of rankings, the Eagles currently sit at No. 126 in the Scoreboard/Clippd NCAA Division I rankings, with Savannah de Bock individually ranked at No. 140. The MAC Championships will feature teams including Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Kent State, Ohio, Northern Illinois, Toledo, and Western Michigan. The tournament returns to Indiana for the first time since 2019.
Looking back at the 2024 MAC Championships, Kent State claimed victory with the Eagles finishing 10th. The 2025 MAC Championships offer an opportunity for Eastern Michigan to secure a spot in the NCAA Regionals, contingent upon a tournament win.
