Eastern Michigan University's tennis team concluded its regular season home schedule with a 5-2 victory over Bowling Green State University on Sunday, April 13. The match, held indoors at the Chippewa Club in Ypsilanti, was particularly significant as it was Senior Day for the Eagles. They celebrated their seniors with a key win that improved their overall record to 11-11 and 4-5 in the Mid-American Conference.

Head Coach Ryan Kucera expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance: "What a great way to celebrate our seniors. It was a true team performance today." He highlighted the performances of seniors Sabina Brichackova and Prerna Vichare, who played at No. 1 doubles. "We were aggressive, put ourselves in good positions and we executed well."

Before the match, the program honored its seniors: Sabina Brichackova, Prerna Vichare, Lily Tria, and Marta Komar. Their contributions were recognized as pivotal for the team, with Kucera adding, "Overall, I am really happy for this group of seniors; they have changed the trajectory of EMU tennis and represented us so well."

The Eagles' performance in doubles set the tone for the match, securing the doubles point through victories at both the No. 1 and No. 3 spots. Brichackova and Vichare combined for their 44th career win, and the pair of Komar and Daniella Shved clinched their match 6-3.

In singles play, Eastern Michigan secured the team win by taking the first four matches. Viki Hazmukova and Kseniia Saenko won in straight sets, while Komar clinched the overall victory, winning her match 6-3, 6-3. Vichare added to the tally with a three-set triumph at No. 3 singles.

Kucera, who reached his 50th win as a collegiate head coach, looks forward to the next fixture at Ball State University on April 18, aiming to "finish the regular season strong."
