The Eastern Michigan University tennis team was defeated by the University at Buffalo with a final score of 5-2 on Sunday, April 6, in Buffalo, New York. This match was part of the Mid-American Conference play, held at the Miller Tennis Center. Despite a strong start by winning the doubles point, the Eagles fell short in the singles matches.

Initially, the Eastern Michigan Eagles secured a 1-0 lead after claiming the doubles point. Buffalo took the match at the No. 2 position, but Eastern Michigan's Marta Komar and Daniella Shved matched their opponents with a 6-4 win at No. 3. The doubles point was clinched by the duo Sabina Brichackova and Prerna Vichare with a 6-3 victory, marking their 42nd career win together.

Daniella Shved continued her form into the singles matches, winning at the No. 1 spot with scores of 6-0 and 6-2. Her victory brought the Eagles’ lead to 2-0. However, the University at Buffalo captured the remaining five singles matches, ultimately securing the win with a 5-2 result.

The defeat resulted in the Eagles having a season record of 9-11 overall and 2-5 in the MAC, while Buffalo improved to 17-5 overall and 4-3 in conference play.

Match notes highlighted Shved's success as she concluded the weekend undefeated in both singles and doubles. "Shved finished the weekend with a 2-0 mark in singles" and improved her overall record by adding her doubles performances.

Brichackova and Vichare's doubles win also moved them up the program's career doubles wins list, with Brichackova tied for 18th place and Vichare remaining 20th overall.

With this match, the Eagles’ string of one-point matches ended, having previously played five consecutive 4-3 encounters. The team will host Northern Illinois University and Bowling Green State University on April 11 and April 13, respectively, as part of their final home weekend of the season.
