The Eastern Michigan University tennis team faced a close defeat in a Mid-American Conference match against the University of Toledo, finishing 4-3 on April 4. The match took place at the Twos Athletic Club in Toledo, Ohio. The Eagles, with a season record of 9-10, fell to 2-4 in the conference after almost recovering from a 3-2 deficit. A tie-breaker in the final singles match determined the outcome in favor of the Rockets, who improved to 10-6 overall, and 3-3 in the MAC.

"[That was] a tough loss to a very strong team," said Head Coach Ryan Kucera. He noted the team's focus on securing the doubles point and commended their effort. He expressed pride for Kseniia Saenko's efforts in the singles matches and looks forward to the team's next match against Buffalo on April 6.

The Eagles claimed the opening point after winning two out of three doubles matches, with Sabina Brichackova and Prerna Vichare earning their 41st victory together at No. 1. In the singles, Brichackova added another win for Eastern, but eventual losses in singles matches by Saenko and others gave Toledo the edge. Eastern's string of five consecutive one-point decisions ties a record from previous seasons, illustrating the competitive nature of their recent fixtures.

The team will face the University at Buffalo next, hoping to improve their conference record. Follow-up coverage of EMU tennis can be found on their social media platforms, providing updates on their performance and developments.
