Eastern Michigan University's track and field teams will compete at the Spartan Invitational, hosted by Michigan State University in East Lansing. The event at Ralph Young Field is set for Friday, April 4 with field events beginning at 10 a.m. and running events starting at 10:30 a.m. The men's discus throw and 4x400m relay will conclude the events at approximately 5:30 p.m. and 5:10 p.m., respectively.

The team aims to build on last year's successful performances, with Elena Wheeler and Joey Furlong taking first place in their events previously. At their recent participation in the Texas Relays, Bobcat Invitational, and Raleigh Relays, the teams combined for 12 personal-best performances with standout individual results.

The men's and women's teams have several top performers in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) rankings. Notably, Bamidele Ajayi leads the 400m in the conference, while the women's team showcases top performances in multiple categories.

In the USTFCCCA rankings, the Eastern men rank third in the MAC and seventh in the Great Lakes Region, with the women fourth in the MAC and 11th in the region. Upcoming events include the 44 Farms Team Invitational at Texas A&M University on April 11-12.
